Have you ever wondered how our Social Media Team selects the content that we post on our clients’ social media pages? Believe it or not, there’s a method to our madness. We’ve tested social media best practices to build editorial calendars that perform effectively and help boost visibility.
The bottom line is that social media is a platform for engagement, not necessarily a place to promote your business with every post. In fact… for each post about your business, it’s important to include 2 to 3 other types of content.
To give you a better idea of the reason each post is included, here’s a quick breakdown of the types of posts we write:
Articles – Your customers want to know that you’re an authority in your field. The best way to do so involves fostering a dialogue about related topics. Posting article links on your timeline shows that you’re watching for new developments and inviting your patients to participate in the conversation. If we can find a relevant video, that’s even better.
Trending topics – Commenting on hot topics is a great way to engage with your customers. Even if a celebrity has nothing to do with your business, connecting the products and services you provide to pop culture will grab your customers’ attention.
Quotes & Cartoons – Sometimes simple is better. Your customers don’t want to be bombarded with information. An inspirational quote or funny graphic goes a long way for engagement.
