Giving Back

We have an established tradition to give back to local organizations and will continue to do so as long as we are able. Our efforts range from donating free website design and management, to donating money, to closing the office, and working for an organization for part of a day. Here are examples of organizations we work with and links to their respective websites.

Youth Sports Alliance

The Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) was established as a legacy to the 2002 Winter Olympic Games. Its mission is to spearhead a community-wide effort to increase the number of children participating in winter sport programs from the greater Park City area, as well as the surrounding Summit and Wasatch Counties in Utah. Today, YSA supports nine competitive winter sports teams, after-school programs including Get Out & Play (GO&P) for elementary school students and ACTiV8 for middle school and junior high school students, as well as scholarships for junior athletes. Through these programs, they touch the lives of more than 2,200 youth each year.

MyAdvice actively supports The Youth Sports Alliance on an ongoing basis. Here are a couple of recent examples.

Volunteers for After-School Ski Program Transportation

2020 was a challenging year for businesses, but also for our local non-profits. During the 2020-21 season, The Youth Sports Alliance faced some very real issues around the transportation of children to their after-school ski programs. Providing transportation is critical for kids from economically underprivileged families who can't otherwise afford it.

As of late last year, buses were suddenly no longer an option. Yet, YSA found a creative way to get kids to the slopes: they contracted a local transportation company with a number of SUVs. However, they needed chaperones in each vehicle to help get the kids to and from the mountain, as well as additional coordinators at the mountain base.
MyAdvice offered all Park City employees the option to volunteer as many Friday afternoons as they wished or could from January to March 2021. A lot of us got to meet and socialize with the kids and witnessed first-hand the life-changing impact of these programs.

Website Design and Maintenance

Here at MyAdvice, we built and are actively maintaining YSA's website, ysaparkcity.org. Visit it now to learn more about this amazing organization!

The Cristine Meredith Miele Foundation

The Cristine Meredith Miele Foundation (“CMMF”) helps save lives by promoting early detection and prevention of breast cancer. CMMF works with a clinic in Red Bank, New Jersey to fund breast cancer awareness and screenings for underprivileged women who otherwise could not afford them. Why Red Bank, NJ? Crissy, as she was known, grew up and lived most of her adult life in a neighboring town. She passed away from breast cancer in 2010 at the young age of 41. Her friends and family, with a little help from MyAdvice, is making sure that doesn’t happen to a large swath of the public that can’t afford testing. MyAdvice provides website development and management, blogging, social media and back office support for CMMF. In addition, our CEO sits on the CMMF Board.
