Google Wants More Photos

Google Plus Sample Photo April 2015 1

MyAdvice is staying ahead of the curve in light of a few recent additions to Google My Business Listings.

Google added six new photo fields to each My Business Listings profile and suggests that users upload at least three photos to each category. In an effort to constantly improve the user experience, Google is likely appealing to the visual preferences of web searchers. Google+ pages with more photos typically provide users with more information, as photos can tell a lot about your business quickly and easily.

Check out the new profile format:

Google Wants More Photos

Notice the Google My Business Listings’ new fields:

Identity photos – Profile pictures, including logos, staff members, and a cover photo

Interior photos – What might the experience be like each time a customer visits your office?

Exterior photos – How can customers identify your location upon their first visit?

Photos at work – What does your day to day look like?

Team photos – Who will customers interact with at your office, either in person or over the phone?

Additional Photos – What else do you want to share about your business?

Why Is This Happening?

Google recently split the Google Photo and Google Stream features. Instead of accumulating all of your photos via your Google+ Stream, added Photos will be kept separate and are meant to be more informative to your customers.

What Does This Mean For You?

Send us as many photos as possible! Your Customer Success Coordinator will be contacting your business for photos in each of the new categories. If you haven’t done so already, think about taking a day to snap some photos around the office. Let’s make your Google+ page even better!
